My husband and I held our wedding at Platypus Park Riverside Retreat. The place was absolutely perfect! Owner's Col and Julie were both wonderful, professional, easy going, approachable, and were very helpful. There was nothing we could fault! The place was well manicured and was all in all just a stunning place. Thank you so much for the perfect wedding venue! We will be making this place a regular holiday/camping getaway with the ski boats. Look forward to returning.

We held our wedding at Platypus Park in May 2018 and could not recommend it more. The barn style reception area overlooking the Burnett River is beautiful and Col and Julie's attention to detail is obvious everywhere, as the grounds and venue are immaculate. The landscaped gardens and river bank provides beautiful options for the ceremony and photos and the on-site accommodation is well-equipped and perfect for visiting family or the bridal party. We look forward to returning!

We had a fantastic stay camping here recently. Col, Julie and the whole family are so welcoming and helpful and made for such a relaxing break. We borrowed the kayaks and paddled up the stream running down the side of the property and saw an abundance of wildlife. Our 6 y.o son loved playing cricket on the grass and when the host family and other campers joined in for a 'proper' game of cricket he was thrilled. We swam in the river every day and generally just relaxed and had an amazing time. We can't recommend it enough and we will certainly be back for another camping trip.

We were invited to stay with friends from Gladstone, this was a 3 1/2 hour trip from Brisbane, what a wonderful place to unwind. We rented the full house for the weekend which gave us full access to the amazing pavilion, kitchen and BBQ. They have really thought of every detail, all we needed was food and beach towels! The gardens and pavilion look out onto the beautiful Burnett River, which is fab for water sports, clean freshwater! Just outstanding! Thanks to Col and Julie for making an amazing restful haven from real life and your fantastic hospitality! We will be back

Absolutely amazing. No words can explain how beautiful this place really is. One has to experience it to believe it. Col & Julie you have done an amazing job with your piece of paradise. We just returned from a superb four days at Platypus Park. We had a group of three families, one camping riverside and two in the villa's. If you enjoy watersports of any kind this is paradise and the villa's are absolutely spotless, modern and as well presented as any expensive hotel. Its a great old fashioned family holiday where you and the kids can be active and unplug and enjoy the outdoors. What a relaxing way to get away without having to sacrifice any home comfort. This is the best fun you can have if you have your own boat, boat ramp is on the property as are docks and bbq's too. We will be back every year.

We celebrated our Engagement Party on the weekend and had the most memorable experience anyone could ever ask for! It truly was a slice of paradise celebrated with all our friends & family. Col & Julie were fantastic hosts ensuring we had the best stay possible. We cant wait to go back!

It was an absolute pleasure to stay at Platypus Park, the view is just stunning, the villa is comfortable, stylish and clean. The activities are fantastic for the whole family to get involved and they are free! We absolutely loved kayaking and spotting a few platypus's! Our hosts were so friendly and made us feel very welcomed. Platypus Park is a must see, whether you would like relaxing and quiet weekend away as a couple or a place to take the family to enjoy some great activities. Our family will most certainly be back, we absolutely loved our holiday at Platypus Park!

We had such an amazing weekend at the Retreat! What a beautiful and peaceful place to come away from life for a few days. All of the girls absolutely loved it, and "It's so beautiful and peaceful out here!" "Oh, I love this place!!" was echoed by all of us quite frequently. From the beautiful villas to the amazing barn and kayaking, there is everything to make the stay comfortable, relaxing and enjoyable. It's an amazing place, so beautiful and quiet. Need to get away from stress and noise, then this is the place to go. It is a piece of paradise on earth. Friendly owners always there if you need them and free canoeing was just the cherry on top. I promised as well that if i ever get married again it will be there. We'll be back.
